Dancing with the Tree
A flow: Dancing with the Tree:
Step back with the left foot
Exhale, shift weight forward on the right foot
Hands down, then lift
Inhale, shift weight back on left foot
Bring hands down
Repeat as often as desired
Standing Posture: Embrace the Tree:
Step forward so feet are shoulder-distance apart
Arms rounded at chest level, elbows lowered, fingers spread
Hold as desired
Step back with the right foot and repeat Dancing with the Tree flow
Weโre exchanging energy with nature. Itโs a reciprocal relationship. We give off carbon dioxide that the trees require, and they give us the oxygen we need.
This flow is a tribute to iconic ancient trees like this one, which I had the pleasure of seeing in Mariposa Grove. It is one of 500 giant sequoias in these amazing woods. Some are over 1,800 years old! Being in this ancient forest provides stress relief, physical rejuvenation, and a humbling perspective on time and conservation.
I stood outside the fencing and danced with the tree to respect the care and preservation of these giant gifts. You can pay respect and practice this flow in whatever forest you are gifted to be in.๐
High trees, wide trees,
reaching-to-the-sky trees!
